LCD new parts

As with many things hi-tech, LCD technology has improved and some of the older parts are no longer available. The newer OPTREX DMC-16105 1x16 display may be substituted for the DMC-16117A or DMC-16117AN. The EPSON EA-D16015AR may also be used.

We have tested the OPTEX DMC-16202NY 2x16 display. The initialization code (labeled initlcd) in "PIC'n Up The Pace" or "Microcontrol'n Apps" works with the DMC-16202. See the update entitled "Alpanumeric LCD Character Addresses" for more information.
